Have You Thought of a Career in Medical Research

Rand Alkaissy

I’m 28 years old and originally from The Netherlands. I did Medicine at the University of Leiden and graduated in 2018. During University I had a strong interest in the musculoskeletal system and I did my research internship here at the University of Oxford in 2015. I enjoyed learning about all the research projects going on in the department and really liked seeing the ‘other’ side of patient care – starting from the labs. I therefore decided to apply to a PhD program to further develop my interests and to get a foot into the academic world as well.
