“I am delighted to start my new role as the Botnar’s Director and lead our incredible team to new successes, delivering better healthcare through research to people suffering with musculoskeletal diseases. I will be ensuring our staff and students are supported and feel valued at the Botnar, whilst they carry out the amazing work they do. I particularly want to expand the excellent research and teaching programmes established by my predecessor, by fostering stronger collaborations across the Medical Sciences Division and around the world.”

Professor Rees became Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Musculoskeletal Science in 2014. He is President of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, and has recently been selected to be an NIHR Senior Investigator. Besides his university and national work, he continues to work as a Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder Surgeon at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC).
