Clinical Trials Manager & Epidemiologist

Epidemiologist with a keen interest in improving outcomes in orthopaedics, and formerly maternal health and cancer survival

I have recently become a Clinical Trial Manager in the Surgical Interventions Trials Unit coordinating the GEKO trial.

In the past year, I was Research Manager for the international Capture the Fracture project. The health economic Benefit and Budget Calculator designed by Associate Professor Rafael Pinedo Villanueva, quantifies the budgetary impact of increasing Fracture Liaison Service uptake to reduce the burden of fragility fractures over the next five years in each country.

I, also, recently conducted epidemiological analyses of the reorganisation of major trauma centres on the outcomes following open fractures with Professors Xavier Griffin and Andrew Judge.

I am an experienced epidemiologist and research manager who has previously conducted research into hip fractures, the impact of surgery on initial traumatic anterior shoulder dislocations, regional variations in prescribing bisphosphonates to hip fracture patients, childhood leukaemia and brain tumours, local reviews of maternal health incidents, and adult cancer survival and ‘cure.’
