Trial Manager - Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO)

I joined the Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO) as a Trial Manager in April 2021 having previously worked as a Trial Manager within the filed of Oncology, at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge and also at the Centre for Trials Research, Cardiff University.

I have twenty years+ experience in clinical research, including managing investigator-led CTIMP/non-CTIMP clinical trials within academia, the NHS, and working as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA), with three leading pharmaceutical companies. This all began in 1993, with my Ph.D. studies, which involved planning and carrying out clinical research (funded by Proctor & Gamble), evaluating the efficacy of cough medications. Post-doctoral research post ensued and lead to first CRA post in 1997, with Lundbeck Ltd.

Within OCTO, I am currently working on the following trials:

SYMPLIFY – Observational study to assess a multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test in individuals referred with symptoms of cancer.
