NIHR Doctoral Research Fellow

  • Specialty Registrar in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the Oxford Deanery

I completed my medical studies at the University of Cambridge. I entered specialty training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Oxford and am now completing a DPhil as part of Prof Rees' research group. I have been awarded an NIHR Doctoral Fellowship to carry out research with the overall aim of "Improving  outcomes for patients having shoulder replacements: guiding patient selection, evaluating cost-effectiveness and informing NHS provision"

My previous research has focused on learning curve modelling and investigating patterns of learning in both elective and emergency Orthopaedic surgery. I have presented my work at national and international meetings and have been awarded several prizes including the SICOT/AAOS Scholarship Prize and the internationally competitive AO Stephan Perren Travelling Research Fellowship.

Alongside my studies, I enjoy tennis and table tennis, and am an active member of the Oxford University Underwater Exploration Group (OUUEG).
