Nicola Barclay

PhD

Post-Doctoral Research Assistant in Health Data Sciences and Epidemiology

I currently work within the Pharmacoepidemiology team focussing on the trajectory of cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis, over the time-course of the COVID 19 pandemic. I work with Real World Evidence (RWE) generated from electronic health record data.

I primarily have a background in academia with wider expertise in sleep medicine, healthcare and genetics. Prior to this appointment I was a Departmental Lecturer in Sleep Medicine, within the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford (2016-2021), though have transitioned into a role in data science applied to healthcare. My doctoral research (Goldsmiths, University of London, 2011) used statistical genetic techniques, structural equation modelling and multi-level modelling to understand heritability of sleep and circadian phenotypes. I also have a Professional Certificate in Data Science and experience working with predictive modelling using Real World Data.
