TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR ROLE

I have worked for NDORMS for 10 years and I have a pivotal role in the Botnar Research Centre. I am responsible for the reception area, to welcome all visitors to the building and deal professionally with any enquiries. I also provide general support for the building to ensure that the administrative and building management functions of the unit run smoothly. This will include updating and maintaining various systems in the building such as AV equipment, meeting room, and visitor booking systems, and helping to maintain security. I act as first point of contact for visitors and contractors to the Centre. I act proactively in helping to develop systems for the smooth operation of the Botnar Centre

WHAT IS THE MOST MEANINGFUL ASPECT OF YOUR WORK?

I was given nothing but love and support when I became a pregnant and respected by all staff. The care I received contributed to the fact of making my pregnancy the happiest time in my life.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT SOMETHING YOU'VE DONE, CONTRIBUTED TO THAT YOU'RE MOST PROUD OF?

My human, warm, professional and kind interaction with staff/students helps/supports each one of them on a daily basis.

I try to do my best every day and receiving this feedback from my line managers and staff lately was very rewarding: “your working style has an amazing combination of professionalism, efficiency and humanity that should be celebrated; your warmth, everyday smile and dedication to work has an incredible effect on the Botnar staff/students: thank you!”

WHAT CHANGES WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO SEE IN THE MEDICAL SCIENCES IN THE NEXT 100 YEARS?

Just as many women in high ranked positions as there are men.
