Conferred in recognition of their excellence in research and teaching, the titles go to:

Audrey Gérard
Audrey is a KTRR Senior Research Fellow exploring the dynamics of T cell immune responses, most recently looking at whether T cell response to infection and tumours is coordinated by cellular communication between cells and the ecosystem in which they reside.

Brian Marsden
Brian is responsible for driving research informatics and research computing capabilities at the Kennedy Institute and the Centre for Medicines Discovery. He has a particular interest in the development of novel data capture and dissemination methods supporting clinical informatics and structural and chemical biology data.

Stephen Mellon
Stephen is a senior researcher in Orthopaedic Biomechanics with a particular interest in how factors such as implant design, surgical instrumentation and patient motion affect outcome in joint replacement. He is developing novel methods for the assessment of painful joints using a combination of ultrasound imaging and motion analysis.

Jelena Bezbradica Mirkovic
Jelena is a KTRR Senior Research Fellow investigating the mechanisms that control the initiation of inflammatory responses. Uncovering these pathways, and those that deactivate inflammatory signalling, will unveil new targets for the design of therapies against chronic inflammatory diseases.

Tim Theologis
Tim is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon whose clinical and research work is focused on children with orthopaedic conditions. His research focuses around the orthopaedic management of children with cerebral palsy, the biomechanics of gait and the management of foot conditions in children.

Our congratulations go to all those awarded.

Professor Andrew Carr, Head of Department said: "I'd like to offer my personal congratulations to all those awarded these titles of distinction. It is a fitting tribute to their significant contribution to research and teaching at NDORMS."
