BEFORE SURGERY

During the pre-admission clinic (POAC) you will meet various medical professionals who will assess you and discuss your best treatment options.

SURGERY

What happens on the day of surgery, including more detail and explanation of the operation.

Admission is usually on the day of surgery. After the operation, you will normally be monitored in the recovery suite for a few hours. The rest of the hospital stay will be on a general ward.


AFTER SURGERY

What to expect after the surgery when you leave hospital and go home.

Rehabilitation will continue once you are discharged from hospital to enable you to resume your normal activities of daily living as quickly as possible.
