Alana Morris

BSc (Hons), MSc

Research Associate

I am Trial Manager for the GRRAND-F trial, Getting Recovery Right After Neck Dissection, providing maternity cover for this role since February 2021.  The GRRAND-F trial is looking at whether it is feasible to recruit and deliver a physiotherapy intervention to patients following neck dissection surgery for head and neck cancer.

Prior to this I managed the Oxford Pain, Activity and Lifestyle (OPAL) study, a large cohort study which aims to improve the primary care management of low back pain in older people. OPAL is part of the BOOST programme; a package of research projects including a randomised controlled trial designed to evaluate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of group physiotherapy for neurogenic claudication.

Before coming to Oxford in August 2014, I worked for the NIHR Clinical Research Network as a Senior Research Officer, facilitating the set-up and delivery of studies in primary care. I have a background in health psychology and a particular interest in behavioural interventions.
