Sponsored priority places for the university childcare waiting list: NDORMS is very keen to support staff with their childcare arrangements and we are pleased to be able to participate in the University Sponsored Places Scheme. This scheme enables departments to nominate staff for a priority place on the nursery waiting list.
If you are offered a nursery place via the Sponsored Places Scheme, you may also be eligible to join the University Salary Sacrifice Scheme and benefit from savings on the costs of fees at university nurseries. For more information about the scheme please contact the Personnel Team.
The Department is constantly trying to improve the way it supports working parents, through the Athena Swan initiatives. Recent changes include:
- core working hours as 10am - 3pm Monday to Friday;
- seminars, lectures and social events are held during the above time slots and during school terms time;
- arranging more family friendly activities.
