UPCOMING OUGSG EVENTS
Are you interested in improving universal access to safe surgical and anaesthesia care? This 5-day course is for health professionals interested in expanding their knowledge and understanding of current developments in global surgical and anaesthesia, who would like to explore ways of further involvement in training, research and surgical systems strengthening and potential global surgery career pathways.

Regular OUGSG Events
Join us for our regular Thursday seminars at 08.00 at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS) Seminar room on Level 6 of the John Radcliffe Hospital. They are open to all, informal, and usually involve a presenter and discussion.
Directions to NDS Seminar Room: From the main entrance of the John Radcliffe Hospital (Level 2) go straight ahead to the main lifts/stairs, go up to Level 6, follow signs for Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, go to the end of the corridor and turn right (through double doors), then it is the first room on the left.

GLOBAL SURGICAL NETWORK MEETING
These meetings are held termly at the John Radcliffe Hospital in the early evening to encourage wider networking from around the region.
Thursday 7 June, 6-7pm, Osler House, John Radcliffe Hospital
Shobhana Nagraj of the George Institute will speak on “Technology Implementation in Healthcare in Low and Middle Income Settings” and Robin Youngs, Consultant Otolaryngologist and UK Lead for Global ENT, will speak on "Deafness: the global burden, with special reference to Nepal and Myanmar”.
OUGSG joins with Global Surgery groups in London and Birmingham for a regular GASOC Journal Club organized by registrars.

SURGICAL GRAND ROUNDS
OUGSG aims to present at two OUH Surgical Grand Rounds each year.
On Friday 18 May 2018, Ms Shannon Gunawardana, Ms Kathryn Ford and Prof Kokila Lakhoo spoke on 'Global Surgery: Paediatric Surgical Team'.
