An enthusiastic and self-motivated receptionist will be the first point of contact and the face of the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Receptionist to be the first point of contact and the face of the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology. You will also contribute to team efforts in maintaining the smooth operation of the administrative and building management functions of the Institute.
 
You will welcome all visitors to the Institute, operate a small switchboard telephone system and a meeting room booking system, manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries, control the swipe card access system and report any faults and security issues. You will also assist staff within the building with various queries and contribute to core administrative support.
 
You will be educated to GCSE standard with grade C or above, (or equivalent) in Maths and English, you will also have previous experience of reception/customer service environment and MS Office packages. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a flexible and co-operative working approach are essential, as is the ability to organise own work with minimum supervision and respond well under pressure. Previous experience of working in an academic or research environment would be an advantage.
 
This is a full time, permanent position. Working hours will be 36.5 per week, Monday to Friday.
 
Due to the nature of the research at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, this job will require additional security pre-employment checks:
•    A satisfactory basic Disclosure and Barring Service check
