British Science Week is almost upon us – and this means one thing for the SITU team – primary schools!
We’ve already been lucky enough to be invited to a few schools to showcase surgical research sciences to Key Stage 2 pupils. On Monday we ventured to Sandhills Community Primary School, along with physiotherapists from Oxford Brookes and an archaeologist. Groups of children rotated amongst the stands to do banana surgery in full surgical outfits and to assess and compare interventions ie: running on the spot and star jumps. Molly & Jamie were exhausted! The children seemed pleased with their surgical skills and skipped off comparing their heart rates.
We’re finessing our activities and are moving to Witney next week during British Science Week for some more primary school science adventures….wish us luck!
