CEDAR: Chemoradiation with Enadenotucirev as a radiosensitiser in locally advanced colorectal cancer
\n \n\n \n \nThis is a multi-centre randomised trial of docetaxel with or without AZD6244 in advanced melanoma
\n \n\n \n \nThe PART study is a feasibility study comparing partial ablation (PA) and radical prostatectomy (RP) in men with intermediate risk unilateral prostate cancer. The aim of the feasibility is to determine whether or not it is possible to recruit and randomise men to a trial of this nature.
\n \n\n \n \nClinical effectiveness of symptomatic therapy compared to standard step up care for the treatment of low impact psoriatic oligoarthritis: a 2 arm parallel group feasibility study
\n \n\n \n \nA single arm exploratory study examining the feasibility of imaging glioblastoma pH using CEST MRI
\n \n\n \n \nDelivering personalised care in the management of exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: A multi-centre randomised clinical trial.
\n \n\n \n \nThis is a multi-centre, non-randomised trial of gene therapy in those with the condition choroideremia.
\n \n\n \n \nHow can we best address prolonged hospital stays in older inpatients with medical-psychiatric multimorbidity?
\n \n\n \n \nFounded in 2002 the Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO) began as a unit running large phase III trials in adjuvant colorectal cancer. We have since developed our trials portfolio to concentrate on the practical application of high quality clinical research into innovative and effective early detection, precision prevention and early phase cancer trials
\n \n\n \n \nWe run a number of clinical trials in orthopaedic trauma and aim to inform best practice in the field, as well as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.\r\n\r\nThe Trauma and Emergency Care group is situated at the Kadoorie Critical Care Research Centre located at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
\n \n\n \n \nThe Centre for Rehabilitation Research in Oxford (RRIO) is a group within the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) at University of Oxford. \r\n\r\nWe are leading research into how exercise and physiotherapy can be used to support the rehabilitation of patients with acute musculoskeletal injures such as a fracture or sprain, and patients with chronic conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis or persistent back pain. We look at how structured physical activity can be offered as an effective method of rehabilitation for patients either alongside, or as an alternative to, standard medication.
\n \n\n \n \nOur focus is the use of experimental medicine techniques to elucidate the mechanism of action and potential clinical utility of novel therapeutic agents. The core of our work is in rheumatology but as the portfolio expands we are applying these approaches to other therapeutic area.
\n \n\n \n \nThe Surgical Intervention Trials Unit (SITU) is a team of surgical investigators who are providing trial management support, and a training and development hub for surgical trialists within the UK.
\n \n\n \n \nThe Gastroenterology and Hepatology Clinical Trials\u2019 group was established as an integral part of the Translational Gastroenterology Unit in 2009. It provides the resource for clinical trials in Gastroenterology so that patients have access to the newest potential treatments, scientists have a platform to translate target discovery into practice and that Oxford is seen to make a substantial contribution to drug development in Gastroenterology.
\n \n\n \n \nMaking a Difference in Health Care Research. Oxford. The Centre for Statistics in Medicine collaborates in health care research, conducts applied statistical research, and runs training courses/workshops for health care workers and statisticians.
\n \n\n \n \nA Comprehensive Cohort Study of Patients with Fracture of the Proximal Femur.
\n \n\n \n \nOur research covers interests in the fields of cancer research and stem cell biology. We focus on the molecular mechanisms of pancreatic cancer formation, particularly the function of TGF\u03b2/Activin/Nodal-Smad2/3 signalling pathway in the formation and maintenance of cancer stem cells in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas.
\n \n\n \n \nThe Operative Rib Fixation (ORiF) Study: A multicentre randomised controlled trial assessing the mortality, quality of life, and cost effectiveness of operative rib fixation plus supportive care versus supportive care alone for patients with multiple rib fractures requiring ventilator support.
