Alessandra Geremia
Academic Clinical Lecturer
I graduated in Medicine and Surgery and trained as a Gastroenterologist in the "Tor Vergata" University of Rome, Italy. During my clinical training I participated in clinical studies on the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients. I then worked as a research fellow at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics in Oxford and took part in genetic association studies on IBD.
My DPhil project focuses on the role of the IL23/IL17 pathway in inflammatory bowel disease. In particular, I am studying the effect of IL23 on adaptive and innate cells isolated from the blood and intestine of patients with IBD and non inflammatory controls
