Arnaud Clavé is a Consultant in Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery at Brest University Hospital (France) and an Assistant Professor in Orthopaedics Surgery at the University of Western Brittany School of Medicine (Brest, France). His clinical expertise includes lower limb arthroplasty (THA, TKA, UKA), Computer-Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery and complex/revision total joint reconstructions.
After graduating from the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis School of Medicine (France), Arnaud completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Brest University Hospital and in the Versailles Orthopaedic Centre (Paris University Hospital, France).
Then, he completed a two year academic and clinical fellowship in lower limb surgery at Brest University Hospital specialising both in hip and knee primary and revision arthroplasty. His training continued with a one year fellowship at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, based in the OOEC, Botnar Research Centre where he improved his skills in knee arthroplasty and kinematic.
Having undertaken a Master degree in Medical Science (Bioengineering - Bone Tissue Engineering) at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis (Laboratoire CNRS GéPITOS) in 2008, he is about to start a PhD on the assessment of normal and replaced knees kinematics using EOSTM under the supervision of Pr Hemant Pandit (OOEC-NDORMS, Oxford University, UK) and Pr Eric Stindel (LaTIM, University of Western Brittany, France).
His research interests include the study of lower limb arthroplasty procedure, knee kinematic, Computer-Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery and robotic surgical procedure, enhanced recovery program and surgical simulation.
