I am a DPhil graduate ( Molecular&Cellular Medicine) from University of Oxford currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant with Professor Claudia Monaco at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology (KIR) University of Oxford. During my studies I have investigated the cellular mechanisms of atherosclerosis development, with a focus on the pathophysiological role of macrophage cell phenotypes and the diversity of innate immune signalling pathways in chronic inflammation. I am now investigating the role of immune cells in human carotid plaques using single-parameter immunophenotypic techniques. Another objective of my project is to investigate the signalling pathways connecting metabolism alterations to inflammation in atherosclerosis.
