Postdoctoral Researcher in Immunology

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the group of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Audrey Gerard investigating the role of T cell collectivity in the regulation of the CD8 T cell response. 

Prior to coming to Oxford, I completed my BSc and MSc in Biotechnology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), and my MSc in Molecular Biology at the University of Vienna. For my bachelor's thesis I joined the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Antibody Engineering to work on developing enhanced therapeutic antibodies for cancer immunotherapy under the supervision of Prof. Florian Rüker, which was done in collaboration with the biotech company F-star. For my master's thesis I got the opportunity to join as a Marshall Plan Fellow the group of Prof. Michel Nussenzweig at Rockefeller University, investigating first HIV-1 latency in patients on ART under the supervision of Lilian Cohn, before focusing on isolating and characterising anti-ZIKV neutralising antibodies from infected individuals in the wake of the Zika outbreak under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Davide Robbiani. I subsequently joined the group of Dr. Christoph Bock at the Center for Molecular Medicine (CeMM) as a Visiting Scientist for one year working on various projects utilising high-throughput sequencing technologies to study cancer epigenomics before starting my DPhil at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology under the supervision of Assoc. Prof Audrey Gerard and Prof. Michael Dustin.

In our research we aim to better understand how different clones of CD8 T cells come together during priming to coordinate their response and co-regulate each other and their subsequent fate.
