Naomi Merritt

Senior Clinical Trials Manager

I am currently trial manager on the PRoCuRe study: Partial Rotator Cuff tear Trial.

Other SITU studies I have been involved in the management of include, CSAW: Can Shoulder Arthroscopy Work? and PARCS: Patch Augmented Rotator Cuff Surgery – A feasibility study.

In early 2020 I returned to the department as senior clinical trials manager; having initially joined NDORMS as a clinical trials manager in 2012.

During my break from NDORMS/SITU I worked as Primary Care Portfolio Manager for the NIHR Clinical Research Network: Thames Valley and South Midlands where I led a team of research facilitators supporting GP practices and researchers to set-up and deliver research across the region.

Prior to joining NDORMS I worked as a frontline Paramedic (HCPC registered) with South Central Ambulance Service. I also have experience within the medical diagnostic industry, having worked in R&D at an Oxford University spinout company and also at Medisense, Abbott Diabetes Care.

I have also trained in the management of activity injuries and sports/body massage (IIST/ IIHHT) and hold a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Fitness Science.
