Nicholas Beale
Clinical Trial Manager
I am currently the Clinical Trial Manager for the ACL STARR study: a study to see if acute ACL repair provides superior clinical outcomes and is cost effective when compared to the more established ACL reconstruction of proximal ACL ruptures, and The Operative Rib Fixation (ORiF) study: a multicentre randomised controlled trial assessing the clinical and cost effectiveness of operative rib fixation versus conservative care for patients with multiple rib fractures.
Previously, I was a Trial Manager at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Science, Clinical Trials Unit, working on the STREAM (Screen and TREAt for Malnutrition) Trial, and prior to that, at the Centre for Occupational and Rehabilitation Sciences (MOReS), Oxford Brookes University, working on the ‘Fit to Study’ cluster-randomised controlled trial. Whilst at Oxford Brookes University, I was also project manager on the ‘cycle BOOM’ study that was designed to understand cycling among the older population and how this affected independence, health and wellbeing.
