Rand Alkaissy

DPhil Student

I am a Medical Doctor from the Netherlands and am currently reading a DPhil in Musculoskeletal Sciences under the supervision of Associate Professor Pierre-Alexis Mouthuy, Associate Professor Sarah Snelling and Professor Andrew Carr. In my work I focus on combining electrospinning and 3D printing to create a biphasic scaffold for the purpose of rotator cuff repair, as part of the Soft Tissue Engineering Group.

I studied Medicine at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands and graduated in September 2018. On completion of my DPhil I intend to go back to Medicine and apply to a surgical training programme.

In my free time I enjoy rowing with the Wolfson College Boat Club, cooking and reading.
