Barbara Marks
Research Administrator to Professor David Murray & OOEC
Along with Jo Brown, I support Professor David Murray and his team in their research work to improve outcomes of hip and knee replacement, and other aspects of orthopaedic engineering. I have worked at the OOEC since 1989.
In addition to my role as a PA, I am involved in many aspects of the research we do including grant costing, administration of funds, staff recruitment, and referencing and proofing of research papers. I am the first point of contact for our many visitors and students. I have had an involvement in hip RSA studies undertaken in Oxford for the last 25 years.
Biennially, I co-ordinate the organisation of the Oxford/Bristol Unicompartmental Knee Arthritis meeting which is sponsored by a number of the key orthopaedic companies. I also provide support to the Girdlestone Orthopaedic Society.
