Get Involved
NDORMS gets involved in a variety of events throughout the year for adults, schools and families. Please see our list of upcoming events below for more information.
We run work experience weeks for students aged 16 or over. For more information please visit our work experience page. We also host a brand new series of online talks by researchers from Medical Departments in the University of Oxford about their work and career. These are aimed at Y12/13 students and more information about upcoming talks and how to attend can be found on our schools page. OPEN ARMS is the departmental patient engagement network and runs regular events that are open to the public so if you are a patient, friend, family member or carer of someone with a musculoskeletal or inflammatory condition or are just interested in finding out a bit more about our research, you may find the OPEN ARMS pages interesting.
If you work for NDORMS, then taking part in outreach and public engagement activities is a great chance to share your expertise and enthusiasm with the public as well as an opportunity to find out a bit more about what people know and feel about your area of research. Getting involved with public engagement is also an enjoyable way to improve your communication skills and a great asset for your CV. NDORMS takes part in a range of outreach activities throughout the year and the department has a library of activities and equipment available for staff to borrow for outreach events. If you are already involved with outreach work, or would like to be, please email our Outreach and Public Engagement Officer, Natalie Ford.
