AFTER logo

AFTER is a pilot randomised controlled trial of best practice advice versus progressive exercise after ankle fracture in adults aged 50 years and over. The aims are to estimate rates of recruitment and follow-up, and the adherence to the physiotherapy regimes. The first participant was recruited just two days after the study opened by collaborators at St Thomas’ Hospital. John Radcliffe Hospital and Eastbourne District General Hospital are also open, with the Bristol Royal Infirmary also due to open soon.
