Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU) are working alongside Centre for Trials Research (Cardiff University) and Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (University of Nottingham) in the EXPLAIN Initiative, a project funded by the NIHR CTU Efficient/Innovative Designs Call 2022. EXPLAIN seeks to create a repository of ‘Explainer Animations’ that will be freely available for all UKCRC registered CTUs across the network. These short videos will aim to answer common questions raised by those participating or considering participating in trials. Three videos will be initially created, one by each unit involved in the project.
Following a Delphi Survey that was circulated earlier this year, the three topics for the initial videos have been decided, and the first Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) meetings have recently taken place with those who had volunteered to take part in the project, to work on the content, design, and development of the videos.
