Clinical Research Fellow in Rheumatology

  • DPhil Student

Chris is a Clinical Research Fellow at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, and a Specialist Registrar in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery on the Warwick Orthopaedic Training Programme.

His DPhil research, supervised by Professor Tonia Vincent, investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms that govern cartilage injury responses and repair, with a particular focus on the reprogramming of chondrocytes following mechanical trauma, how these pathways are dysregulated in osteoarthritis and how aging affects these processes. His research is supported by the Clinical Kennedy Trust Prize Studentship (KTPS) and the Clarendon Scholarship.

Alongside his research, Chris is a Stipendiary Lecturer in Medicine at Trinity College, Oxford, providing weekly tutorials to pre-clinical medical students in Applied Physiology and Pharmacology.
