Denitsa Filipova

I provide project management support for some of the industry-funded Experimental Medicine programmes and projects at the Kennedy Institute. My role involves working with a wide range of  Oxford University researchers, professional staff, representatives from different companies and OUH to ensure the appropriate set up of collaborative projects and their smooth and successful delivery. It is exciting and multi-faceted work and I enjoy bringing together different sectors and perspectives for the advancement of science and patient wellbeing.

Prior to joining the Kennedy Institute, I worked as a Business Partnerships Associate at Divisional level in Medical Sciences, establishing new partnerships with industry and managing the relationship with some of the existing strategic partners such as GSK and BMS. I also managed the Industry-funded Fellows and Postdocs Network. My journey in cross-sector collaborations at the University of Oxford started at the Social Sciences Division in 2019 where I set up a programme for doctoral placements and engagement with business. 

I have a doctorate in Politics from Macquarie University, Sydney in which I explored consultation mechanisms and the involvement of NGOs in policy making in Bulgaria and Serbia. I also have degrees in Business and Public Administration. I am interested in developing and supporting projects/programmes where the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts - with curiosity and an open mind.
