I am a DPhil student in the Alsaleh Laboratory, where I investigate novel therapeutic strategies for osteoarthritis (OA). I am co-supervised by Dr Dario Carugo, Associate Professor of Biostimulation and Immunological Engineering.

My research focuses on developing innovative therapeutic strategies and experimental models for OA, while exploring how lifestyle factors influence the ageing process. More broadly, I am interested in healthcare technologies and policies that promote healthy ageing and prevent or treat age-related diseases. Before starting my DPhil, I worked at Genomics Ltd., a University of Oxford startup commercialising polygenic risk scores for complex diseases in the UK and USA, with the goal of increasing disease prevention and early detection.

I graduated from the University of Durham with a degree in Molecular Biology, followed by an MSc in Genomic Medicine at the University of Oxford. During my master’s, I worked in Professor Carlo Rinaldi’s group, developing 3D organoid models to advance the study of rare skeletal muscle diseases. Previously, I worked in Professor Shyh-Dar Li’s laboratory at the University of British Columbia, where I developed lipid-based delivery systems for nucleic acids with potential applications in gene therapy and gene editing.

My studies are fully funded by a Clarendon Scholarship and St John's College.
