Clinical Trial Manager (SPAARK)
I am currently the Clinical Trial Manager for the SPAARK trial: Study of Peri-Articular Anaesthetic for Replacement of the Knee. SPAARK is a multi-centre, blinded, randomised controlled trial investigating the clinical and cost effectiveness of periarticular liposomal bupivacaine compared with bupivacaine hydrochloride for post-operative recovery after knee replacement surgery. Liposomal bupivacaine is already licenced in the USA but does not yet have marketing authorisation in the UK.
After graduating in 2008 from the University of Leeds with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, I worked for Autism Care UK. I then began my career in clinical research and worked as a Data Support Officer at the Warwick Clinical Trials Unit. Before my current post, I worked at the Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO), also at the University of Oxford as a Clinical Trial Administrator. I have worked on a variety of UK and international trials across different phases and therapeutic areas, such as the treatment of breast cancer, bone sarcomas and Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.
