Dr. Loay is currently a junior orthopaedic surgery resident at the ACGME-I accredited residency program at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar. He is actively involved in different research projects in orthopaedics alongside his mentor senior consultant Dr. Ghalib Ahmed.
He graduated from medical school at Jordan University of Science & Technology in 2019 with “Excellent” standing, after which he had an internship/foundation year at HMC, where he had the chance to work and develop further interest in Orthopaedic surgery and the musculoskeletal field as a whole.
During his final year of medical school, he had a medical elective placement at imperial college London, where he rotated in the Orthopaedic surgery department at the Chelsea and Westminster hospital with a particular focus on foot and ankle surgery under the supervision of Mr. Andrew Roche.
Loay has given several oral presentations at both local and national meetings. Moreover, he’s looking to broaden his understanding of MSK basic sciences and research throughout the course of this MSc.
