MSc in Biomedical Sciences

Clinical Trial Manager

I joined NDORMS in December 2020 as a Clinical Trial Manager for the OPTIMISE trial within the  Experimental Medicine and Rheumatology (EMR) group. Currently, I am in charge for the successful set-up and delivery of the BALANCE trial. BALANCE is a multi-centre, observational cohort prospective study. The aim of the study is to explore the impact of Bimekizumab (IL17A&F inhibitor) on non-invasive measures of liver disease (in psoriatic disease) and links to underlying pathological mechanisms.

As a trial manager, I am responsible for the day-to-day and overall management of clinical research studies, from design and set-up to close-out. Experienced in study document/ database (REDCao) development, site set up, overseeing timelines and budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.

Prior to joining NDORMS, I worked as a Clinical Study Coordinator in the Department of Rheumatology of the Catholic University Hospitals Leuven. (KU Leuven).  Here, I worked on the safety and efficacy of phase II- IV drug and strategy trials in patients with Psoriatic arthritis (PsA), Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and Ankylosing spondylitis (AS).

I attended Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) and achieved both my BSc. and MSc degree in Biomedical Sciences. Studying Biomedical Sciences was an excellent choice since I am interested in the human body and its disorders. Being fascinated by the final phases of the drug development process, I pursued my career in the field of clinical research.
