Natalie Ford

Outreach and Public Engagement Officer

As Outreach and Public Engagement Officer, I am here, along with the rest of the communications team, to support our researchers as they engage with the public about their research.  I can also help with some aspects of Patient and Public Involvement & Engagement (PPI/PPIE).

We can help with writing the public engagement/impact section of your grant applications, developing new activities to engage the public and providing logistical support to make your activity run smoothly. We can also let you know about upcoming engagement opportunities.

I'm also responsible for the departmental work experience programme for 16 to 18 year olds.  If you would like to volunteer to help out with Work Experience in July 2024, please fill in this form (SSO required).  We also run regular online careers talks for Y12 students, please let me know if you'd like to take part.

As part of OPEN ARMS I host regular talks for people with musculoskeletal or inflammatory conditions, their carers, friends, and family or members of the public with an interest in our research.  If you are interested in attending or giving a talk you can find out more on the OPEN ARMS pages.

Prior to joining NDORMS, I've had twenty years experience of working in outreach and public engagement, most recently as Schools Programme Manager for Science Oxford.
