Rabia Khan

Rabia Ali Khan is a part time DPhil student and epidemiologist specializing in evidence synthesis, observational studies and leveraging real-world evidence to shape health policies. Her DPhil project explores inequities in diagnoses, screening, treatment approaches, and clinical outcomes among early breast cancer patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds in the UK and Pakistan using big data and artificial intelligence.

Rabia's professional background spans across academia, public sector and the pharmaceutical industry. She previously held the position of senior epidemiologist at the Public Health Advice, Guidance and Expertise (PHAGE) Team within Public Health England. In this role, she contributed to the production of SARS-CoV-2 incidence, mortality, and hospitalization estimates for the United Kingdom. She served as an Associate Director Global Epidemiology at AstraZeneca's Oncology Outcomes Research (O2R) Team, leading multiple RWE studies to support the post-authorization phase of the Lynparza asset. 

Presently, Rabia serves as a Principal Epidemiologist in the Data Analytics and Surveillance Division at UKHSA. Concurrently, she holds the role of Associate Lecturer at the College of Health, Psychology, and Social Care at the University of Derby. In this capacity, she delivers content across various Master of Public Health modules including Health Protection, Global Health, Epidemiology and Statistics. Moreover, she actively guides and supervises MPH students through their dissertations.
