NDORMS prides itself on creating an inclusive working environment that promotes openness, diversity and equality. Join us in celebrating the first ever LGBT+ STEM day.

July 5 is the First International Day of LGBT+ People in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths. The day hopes to help improve the visibility and representation of LGBT+ scientists through public, academic, and industry engagement and strengthen the community of LGBT+ people working in STEM and STEM related fields.

"I am proud to be part of a department that genuinely supports and encourages diversity. In the words of the wise Hannah Gadsby, 'Diversity is strength, Difference is a teacher'. As a department, we very much embrace this way of thinking and continuously work on developing and implementing initiatives which embrace and support staff at all levels", commented Maria Granell Moreno, NDORMS Equality and Diversity Advisor.

The University is proud to be a Stonewall Diversity Champion. For more information on how the University supports all its LGBT+ staff including information on social and support groups, University policies and information on ways you can support your LGBT+ colleagues please visit the University Equality and Diversity Unit pages.

Thanks to Katy Riggs for our new Pride flag created using images taken in the Department.
