Senior Researcher in Pharmacoepidemiology
Pharmacoepidemiology | Real-World Evidence
My work as a pharmacoepidemiologist is to improve healthcare for patients by using de-identified healthcare data to generate robust and reliable real-world evidence on the utilisation, safety and effectiveness of medicines.
I am a pharmacist by training, and joined the Health Data Sciences Group in 2020 after completing my doctoral training at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
Several of my projects use data from across Europe, mapped to the OMOP common data model. I have a particular research interest and expertise in geriatric pharmacoepidemiology, vaccine effectiveness research and regulatory pharmacoepidemiology.
My areas of work include conducting causal inference and drug utilisation studies for the national and European regulators (e.g. in the context of DARWIN EU) as well as methodological work to minimize confounding bias in observational studies.
Since May 2025, I am honoured to co-lead with Prof. Prieto-Alhambra the academic side of the Innovative Health Initiative’s GREG project to generate, pilot-test, and disseminate evidence-based guidance for the use of real-world evidence to support regulatory and HTA decision-making.
