Emma Morris

Continuous Improvement Practitioner

My role is to work with teams and colleagues across NDORMS to deliver a programme of continuous improvement (CI) in the services and operations that support the department's valuable research and teaching activities. I will be l working with teams to support them in full scale service reviews as well as reviewing processes and to improve policies, processes and procedures.

I'll also be building a CI hub - a place to go to find out more, share CI experience and get support for your own CI activity, whether you are experienced in CI, an enthusiast or simply curious.

I have joined NDORMS on a two-year secondment (September 2023 - September 2025) from Focus, the University's central change and continuous improvement team where I have been supporting UAS and academic departments and Divisions with improvement projects, process reviews and service reviews. Prior to that, I worked in the Humanities Divisional Office before that, I had a variety of service management roles in local government (my all time favourite being refuse collection and street cleaning!)

I'd love to hear from you if you would like to find out more about CI or have ideas for improvement, so please do get in touch.
