I am an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery. I trained in Edinburgh (BSc (1st class Hons), MBChB(Hons), MRCS, MSc(Dist)), and The University of Nottingham (PhD, thesis entitled "Assessing the outcome of surgery for Dupuytren's disease of the hand").
I hold a Fellowship at The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and previously held a NICE Scholarship. I also hold an honorary clinical research fellowship at Warwick Evidence (University of Warwick), am a clinical e-tutor at The University of Edinburgh, and have sat on both the Research and Audit committees of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
My Research interests include outcome measurement in hand surgery, clinical trial and observational study design, and evidence synthesis. I am also involved in clinical registry design (BSSH's national hand surgery database), clinical guideline generation, quality improvement in healthcare, and health service architecture development.
