Louise Spoors
Clinical Trial Manager
I am a nurse by background, with 17 years of experience in the operating theatre as a theatre and anaesthetic nurse, but I have also completed a BSC (Hons) degree in Biomedical Science in 2001. I moved to Oxford and changed career direction in 2004 becoming a Falls Specialist Nurse for Oxfordshire Falls Prevention Service in the primary care sector. I completed an MSc in Public Health at Oxford Brookes University and naturally pursued a career in research afterwards.
I was fortunate to become a Research Nurse in Orthopaedic Trauma at the John Radcliffe Hospital in 2011 prior to moving to the management side with NDORMS in 2016 as aTrial Manager for the Adult Trauma Trials, led by Chief Investigator Prof Matt Costa.
In 2018, I started work on a portfolio of Children’s Trauma Trials, led by Chief Investigator Prof Dan Perry. These trials are all paper free, with all data captured directly onto the REDCap system, including consent, assent and randomisation. Patient Information is provided via the study websites and participant follow-up is completely electronic and automatic.
