Clinical Trial Co-ordinator
- Trial Manager (Interim) ESCRS-TORIC and MOLL Study
- NDS QUANTUM Biobank Administrator
I joined the University of Oxford in 2018 and have enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside medical research in a number of areas to form an active role in surgical and clinical trials both in their set-up and as active trials.
My current posts are Interim Trial Manager for ESCRS-TORIC, Interim Trial Manager for The Moll Study and interim Biobank Administrator for QUANTUM.
ESCRS-TORIC is a two arm randomised trial to consider the efficacy of toric intraocular lens against standard lens in the treatment of cataract in patients with low total corneal astigmatism. Cataract surgery is one of the most common medical procedures undertaken and this trial will assess the use of a lens that can treat astigmatism whilst removing the cataract in the hope that patients will have less reliance on spectacles and a better quality of life.
The MOLL study relates to breast cancer surgery and the use of a new device using magnetic localisation of lesions during breast cancer surgery.. The study will have two arms: one using the magnetic localisation, the other using the current wire-guided technique used in the UK.
QUANTUM is a new biobank specialising in urological malignancies and has been formed to support scientific research as well as experimental research that could translate into early phase trials or extend and support findings from clinical trials.
I am proud to be a Mental Health First Aider and hold a working committee place within the NDS Equality Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
In 2021, I received a joint NDS COVID Champions award in the category of Team Effort for the NDS Events.
In 2021, I was awarded a Staff Reward and Recognition for my contribution to NDS.
