Rachel Anscombe

DPhil student

I am a DPhil student in the Powrie lab, studying regulatory T cell biology in the context of gut immunity. My project uses traceable murine TCR transgenic T cells to study the longevity, functions, and cellular interactions of antigen-specific, microbiota-reactive regulatory T cells. I joined the lab as a student in October 2023 as part of a Kennedy Trust Prize Studentship.

Prior to starting my DPhil, I completed a BSc in Biology at the University of Nottingham and an MSc in Integrated Immunology at the University of Oxford. My MSc research project investigated the role of human CD161+ Regulatory T cells in inflammatory arthritis and was based in the Bowness/Chen lab, where I then continued to work as a research assistant for a year.
