Simon Shayler
Research Systems Officer
I am part of the programming team that designs, supports and develops a range of applications used by the OCTRU clinical trial staff. These applications are an integral part of the day to day running of clinical trials and provide a major supporting role in the recruitment of trial participants, data entry and trial management activities. I am also a website administrator for the clinical trials and was previously a Database Officer, where I carried out clinical trial database administration as well as converting and troubleshooting eCRFs for clinical trials.
Before joining OCTRU in October 2015, I worked for a year supporting the clinical databases within the NDORMS Epidemiology group and I also spent several months carrying out database administration for the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. Prior to this, I worked in the pesticide industry, producing pesticide trial data for agrichemical companies, and I also have a PhD in biological control from Cardiff University.
