Sinayat Mahzabeen has recently joined the Surgical Intervention Trials Unit (SITU), Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, University of Oxford. She would be working on a project called the PIC Bone, which is a cohort study to understand the diagnostic value of imaging techniques like MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and USS (Ultrasound Scan) in paediatric Osteomyelitis (bone/joint infection in children). The study is led by Chief Investigator Prof Tim Theologis, who is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon/Associate Professor at the University of Oxford.
Following her Bachelor’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sinayat pursued her MSc in Pharmacology from the University of Oxford in 2015. Upon completion, she worked as a lecturer of Pharmacy at BRAC University in Bangladesh. She recently completed her Ph.D. in Pharmacology with Dr. Taufiq Rahman from the University of Cambridge, fully funded by the Jameel Education Foundation and the Cambridge Trust. Her study focused on developing novel chemical scaffolds as inhibitors of the store-operated calcium entry pathway using a structure-based targeted approach. Through her endeavors, Sinayat aims to contribute towards the advancements in clinical research and make a difference in the lives of patients.
