On 15th August Nick Birch reached the peak of Scafell Pike to raise funds and awareness of hip osteoarthritis and hip replacement.
It was the second time that the former patient of Professor Siôn Glyn-Jones had taken on such a challenge, having scaled Ben Nevis and run 5K just a year after having his full hip replacement aged just 23.
“Without my hip replacement I would not be in a position to take on such a challenge,” said Nick. “Especially in these uncertain times I wanted to raise money for the hospital and something that means so much to me, and would like to thank my new work place Grab Express who donated to the cause.”
Nick raised £475 to support further research into this area.
