Amy Magona

BSc, MSc

OCTRU Medical Statistician

I joined NDORMS in November 2024 as a Medical Statistician, working as part of the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU) and the Centre for Statistics in Medicine (CSM). I am involved in the design, conduct and analysis of randomised clinical trials. I currently work on several trials related to oncology and orthopaedics, including FORENSIC, SARONG and HIPCARE.

Prior to joining NDORMS, I completed an NIHR pre-doctoral fellowship at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. My fellowship project focused on a systematic review on the added-value of biomarkers to heart failure prognosis models. I also previously completed an NIHR undergraduate internship in Medical Statistics at the Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit.

I hold an MSc in Statistics with Medical Applications from the University of Sheffield. My master's dissertation was titled 'Longitudinal analysis of outcomes in clinical trials' using data from diabetes clinical trials. I also hold a BSc in Mathematics and Actuarial Science from the University of Leicester.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing badminton and baking!
