Jinyi Zhao

DPhil student

I am a DPhil student working under the supervision of Prof Paul Bowness and Dr Liye Chen. My DPhil research project focuses on the identification and verification of novel therapeutic targets in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) through a genetics-led immunologic investigation.

Prior to starting my DPhil, I completed a BSc degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Liverpool, where my final year project focused on hypoxia and supported by Prof Sonia Rocha. Afterwards, I completed my MSc in Molecular Medicine at Imperial College London. During my master's degree, I investigated the effect of proteasome inhibition on the vascular system among multiple myeloma patients.
