DPhil student in the Planetary Health Informatics group, led by Prof. Sara Khalid, and the Centre for Statistics in Medicine, under Prof. Gary Collins, at NDORMS, University of Oxford. Previously, a Fulbright scholar at MIT and a research associate at Duke University. Bachelor’s and master’s on Bioengineering from the University of Porto. Research interests lie at the intersection of fairness, ethics, and machine learning in healthcare. Focus on engineering ethics into machine learning models to ensure fairness, transparency, and trustworthiness across different modalities, geographical settings, and populations.
