The SCT is an international organisation that advocate for the use of clinical trials to inform science and advance human health and wellness. For more than four decades they have been a forum for the development and dissemination of optimal methods and practises in clinical trials.
Associate Professor Jonathan Cook joined the Centre for Statistics in Medicine at NDORMS in 2013. He is an experienced statistician, and Deputy Director of the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU). He oversees the statistical input into clinical trials and undertakes related methodological research.
On being elected to the SCT board, Jonathan said “I was surprised but grateful to be elected to the SCT Board of Directors. Attending and presenting at the SCT annual meeting has always been a highlight of my year. I’m looking forward to contributing to the Society’s work and serving the membership and friends of SCT. The vital contribution of clinical trials to modern medicine has perhaps never been more prominent in the public sphere than it is today. The SCT has an important role to play in advocating for clinical trials, stimulating methodological development, and encouraging best practice”.
