This session is one in a series following on from the OCTRU Summer Meeting that took place on 9th July.

session overview

The use of websites, mobile applications, social media and messaging systems is an accepted norm within all age groups and demographics within society, as such it is natural that trialists should make use of these channels to deliver information, collect information and interact with study participants and healthcare professionals.

In this session we aim to provide an insight into how teams within OCTRU are utilising this technology to deliver studies now and what plans are afoot for the future. There will be case studies on the use of electronic diaries and patient information sheets in the AFTER, SPELL and ROBUST studies, the use of websites to deliver trial interventions from the PREPPED, PROMOTE, and WISE studies, examples from the FAME & WAX studies in the use of TRIAGE to manage medical imaging data, a discussion on the uses/benefits of electronic communications, the do’s, don’ts and metrics available when utilising current technology and a taste of what is in the pipeline for some of our studies that will open in the near future.

Please bring questions, thoughts and ideas to this session and engage with the presenters to facilitate a lively discussion.

This session will take place in person in Botnar Research Centre, G54. Limited spaces are available.

Please email octrutrialshub@ndorms.ox.ac.uk to reserve your space.  A University/NHS email address should be used when making your booking.
