Chen-Yi Wang

Senior Research Associate

My research interests are focused on chromatin biology and epigenetics. I began my research career as a wet-lab scientist specializing in molecular and cellular biology, with a particular emphasis on next-generation sequencing (NGS)-related experiments and analyses. In order to gain more practical experience with NGS data analyses and bioinformatics, I pursued additional training in CGAT (Computational Genomics Analysis and Training program) upon joining Prof Oppermann's group at the Botnar Research Centre in 2017.

As an experimental and computational biologist, I have applied several NGS analyses, including targeted DNA sequencing, RNA sequencing at both bulk and single-cell levels, and multi-omics integrated analysis, to deepen our understanding of the tumour patho-mechanism, as well as to discover potential targets and pathways for treatments and drug development.
